Two pedestrians struck in hit-and-run

by Administrator 27. May 2010 07:23

Police today arrested a man accused of hitting two pedestrians Wednesday night in a hit-and-run.

The 24-year-old man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury. Authorities say that the man hit two pedestrians around 1320 Central Avenue as they were leaving Ferg's Sports Bar and Grill. However, police have not charged the driver for causing the accident, because they say that the pedestrians were crossing the street without the aid of a crosswalk.

Nobody was seriously injured, although both pedestrians were treated for minor injuries at Bayfront Medical Center.

The driver remains in the Pinellas County jail in lieu of $5,000 bail for the hit-and-run related charges.
