Man Left With Fractured Shoulder After Nursing Home Incident

My Fox Orlando reports that 26-year-old Bryan Barborka, "is being treated at Florida Hospital for a fractured shoulder and some very severe bruising." This is following an incident at the Springs Group Home in Apopka. Barborka suffers from cerebral palsy and only retains use of his left arm. The group home houses the physically and mentally impaired, and Barborka has lived there for the past 4 years.

The group home claimed that Bryan was agitated before he went to bed, so they had to restrain him. Fox Orlando reports that, "Bryan’s injuries include substantial bruising from his right arm over his shoulder around his neck and down his chest. His right shoulder had been fractured."

Barborka's brother, David Barborka, received a call from the abuse hotline letting him know that his brother was in the hospital. This was the day after the alleged abuse. David Barborka was horrified that they allowed his brother to lie in bed all night with a fractured shoulder. He reported the incident to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
