What to do if your child was involved in a car accident

by Administrator 19. November 2009 07:01

When serious car accidents occur, either one of the injured parties or a witness to the scene will notify police and emergency medical officials. When medical officials arrive, they will either treat the injured parties for injuries or take them to a nearby hospital.

However, if a child is involved in an accident, then whoever is reporting the accident should notify police and medical authorities that a child is injured. This special notification is important because certain medical crews are better suited to deal with injured children.

The importance of receiving a doctor's evaluation

by Administrator 5. November 2009 03:15

After a patient has received medical treatment for a personal injury case, a doctor will often conclude that the patient is as healthy as possible. This conclusion is often known as maximum medical improvement (MMI).

This evaluation is often important when patients file claims with their health insurance company. In some cases, the health insurer may question the patient's claims, but the evaluation of a doctor will likely help the patient's case.

The benefit of filing a letter of protection

by Administrator 5. November 2009 02:44

When people do not have enough money from their insurance provider to pay for medical treatment, they often believe that they are out of options and can no longer receive treatment. In most cases, this belief is not true.

Patients often have the option of filing a "letter of protection," which allow them to continue receiving treatment without having to make current payments. Once the treatment is complete, patients will typically be required to make a late payment for the treatment.

If you or anyone you know is considering making a letter of petition, contact the St. Petersburg personal injury lawyers of Beltz & Ruth at 800-931-4369.
